A sad, sad day in the Mew Studio

Friends, please observe a moment of silence for my longtime, trusted friend the Oki printer. Sadly, she has suffered a #42 fatal error, and it appears that there’s no way of resucitating her.

To tell you the truth, I’ve sort of known this day was coming–looming on the horizon like a dark (and expensive) storm cloud. She just hasn’t been herself–very tempermental, sort of lazy. I had three service calls in the last couple of months all which resulted in only short-term repairs.

I feel like I owe her this tribute though–after all, she is the backbone of my business. She’s lived with me in my house, apartment and now my condo since maybe 2004. She’s had a good life up on her hand-me-down, rickety printer stand in the studio. Fortunately, she was an organ donor–so her relatively new parts will be transplanted into her sucessor which has been purchased and will probably arrive on Monday.

Oh Oki, go now, to a better place where you’ll never have to print another envelope again.

  1. I don’t mean to diminish this tragedy, but your photos today are funny and cheeky.

  3. Awww, I’m so sad for you and Oki. I often wondered what model you had because for a laser printer, it seem(ed) to do a bang up job.
RIP, little feller. You done good…. you done good.

Geez- did you have to make me cry!??!
