A few months ago I got a call from a mother of the bride who would be doing a lot of the planning for her daughter’s summer wedding, since her daughter was living in Boston. It’s been so much fun to work on this project with this great woman.
The wedding is going to be held at a gorgeous, Hudson Riverfront restaurant in Westchester County. It has a rustic, Tuscan countryside feel, so the design for the invitations is centered around my original illustration of an olive branch. Isn’t that beautiful symbolism for a wedding?
I love the combination of modern and minimalist fonts, and even the sparseness of the illustration, with the rustic, organic raffia and deckled edge paper. To save trees and postage the family opted for a response postcard–a growing trend in weddings that I’m seeing a lot of requests for.
Each guest’s favor is going to be a petite bottle of Italian olive oil! Love it! Can’t wait to see pictures of this garden wedding.
