Germs in the house and nowhere to sleep
Great. I’ve been bullied out of my own bed by a bunch of unruly and aggressive germs. Since Dino is contaminated I’m self-banished to the bed in the studio. Which wouldn’t be so bad if there were any room for me–but there’s a big fat cat in my way!
Hmmph, perhaps there’s a vacancy in the [...]
Come and see Mew at the Hammond Museum Bridal Show
If you are planning a spring, summer or even a beautiful fall wedding, do consider The Hammond Museum in North Salem, NY as your setting. It is truly a zen-like paradise inviting deep contemplation down every turn of the pebble covered path. Fragrant cherry blossoms, meandering water gardens and rustling bamboo provide a wonderful setting [...]
Mushroom Head
If you didn’t know this about me, I have diagnosed OCD. I don’t incessantly straighten the slats on the venetian blinds or lock the door thirty one times each time I leave. I don’t really have to perform any rituals. Instead I have a non-stop mind that just races and races and races like a [...]
What’s new at Mew?
You may not believe it (I hardly do) but spring is trying to come. It’s trying. Even though that pesky winter keeps trying to bully it back down I know it’s on it’s way. In anticipation of the thaw I’ve got flowers on my brain…so I’ve translated these blooms onto wedding stationery ensembles.
A vintage Victorian [...]
Detour–road block ahead!
Uh oh. I was kind of afraid of this. People warned me it could happen. Me, being my adamant self, just shrugged off the nay-sayers knowing that it could never happen to me. How could working from home EVER be a bad thing?
Now, don’t get me wrong…I’m not over it by any means. But I [...]
Something new is brewing!
Since I left my corporate job in hell, I mean at a large real estate brokerage firm, I’ve had a new schedule to get used to. Every week, I have Mondays and Thursdays off from my part time gig as a framer at a vintage poster gallery. Last week we had a horrific snow blast [...]
The Princess is now receiving…
I am adding something new to the webshop today! Keep a lookout.
I’m still trying to decide if it should be exclusive to Mew Studio or put it on Etsy as well…well, that’s neither here nor there. But aren’t these presh?
They’re shown here in pink and blue, but if that’s too traditional for you, we [...]
How a house becomes a home
In the past 8 years I have moved seven times. Seven. I guess I was restless. I started with my first ever apartment in Bedford Hills NY with who would end up my fiancee` at the time. Then to White Plains, NY then to a house that we bought together after getting married. Sadly, divorce [...]
A visit from my family
We had a full house today!
The whole family–minus Dad and one brother–came by for a heap of good homemade food. I made a monster of a meatloaf stuffed with olives and mozzarella with enough to leave over in the freezer, plus some to send home to the absentees. I steamed and then sauteed some brussell [...]
Lookie here what I got!
Well, I didn’t get it just yet but I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my package from Foundling. Betsy uses vintage silk blouses and glass beads to create these poppy pins, bobbies or hair ties. I went for the hair ties, because really, how cute will these look holding my pigtails in place? Visit [...]
