Update on Dad as of 12:47 pm Thursday

I'm sort of abandoning all the fun and games of my usual blogginess to use this platform as a way of keeping friends and family updated on my dad.  Thanks to all of you have sent prayers and "get wells" and good wishes.  Keep it coming, as we can all use a little divine intervention at the moment.

I just got off the phone with Dad now.  Late last night he got word that the enzyme levels that determine a heart attack were elevated further–so they are calling this a heart attack.  Upon consulting with a cardiologist and our cousin who is a doc up at Yale, New Haven, my parents have opted to have a cardiac catheterization performed to determine the level of blockage.  Sometimes this can result in a stent (did I spell that right?  My mom will be on me for that one!) and sometimes it can result in bypass, but there is no way to know until they go in. 

He will be taken by ambulance up to Yale this afternoon.  The whole ambulance bit is a real drag for him because he has a bad case of motion sickness–if he watches someone ELSE on a rocking chair or swing he gets sick!  It's bad.  So they did give him something to calm his stomach for the journey.

No other news at this point, but keep checking back here for the current situation.
